Sniff It

"

Change

"
Sniff, like my nose
does sniff change
and knows

who moved my d'ligny?
causing Scurry to hurry
like my heart in a scurry

confusing Hem's head
more than Haw's
but, och aye
both o'them hem and haw

reciting while
between'em fighting
'the best laid schemes o'Mice an' Men gang aft agley'
tha noo

Author's Note

Wondering Mind
Sniff, Scurry, Hem and Haw are all characters in the book "Who moved my Cheese?" by Dr. Spencer Johnson; a short, but poignant narrative discussing how different personalities deal with change.
The second last line is from the poem 'Tae a Moose/ To a Mouse' by the great Robert Burns

Now how unique is this....not a question, but a statement :) I have not read the books but it's really cool how you play with the inevitable...change. Sometimes it sucks, sometimes it's awesome, but it's always inevitable. Even the most stubborn of minds move their a*s when they see the twister coming...lol
It does have a smell too and an emotion. All the kingdoms fall for the next to rise. We're next. And speaking of books, this reminds me of Jean Gebser's "Ever Present Origin" It's an analysis of the history of culture. This is NOT a quick read should you ever choose to read it :)

The explanation adds the context I needed. Nice work! Change is healthy but difficult.

Aye, change is life.
To be well read can only help us to write well. I would never get this without your explanation, but I liked the feel even before I understood it.
