Love Happens (While You Sit There)

Love Happens (While You Sit There)

A Chapter by Wondering Mind
"

to a statue I saw once

"

While you sit there…..
Orion shares the glory
Of Trillion stars shinning bright.
The desert recites
      to lovers,
telling tales in Time
of a Thousand Nights
and a Night.

While you sit there
dawn dances in daring hues,
virgin violets;
                    moving mauves,
                                      and a backdrop;
a sax playing the blues.

While you sit there,
Wandering waves
       caress lover’s feet,
            walking hand-in-hand,
on a bed of sensuous sand.
While you sit there

A swan dances with a swan,
a blackbird sings,
      a flower blossoms,
                a maple leaf falls.

                               While you sit there,
               Love happens
and Life goes on.

I envisioned a person sitting somewhere, feeling sorry for themselves -- for whatever the reason -- perhaps a broken heart, loneliness -- and in the meantime -- life is dancing in circles around them and they are missing out -- by their lack of willingness to move forward -- to try again. A statute.

Wonderfully expressed. And I love the flow of this piece; the imagery is lovely...

Well done!

funny how life seems to just stop, or else take a nose dive, after the end of a relationship. well, no, it's not funny-but it is ironic. how life after the death of a relationship is extremely similar to life after the death of a loved one.

but yes, you're right, life does go on, it does not just stop; it does not step back and put everything on hold and wait for you to get over it. and when it happens, you've got to make the choice of whether or not you're gonna jump on that train, finish out the ride, or if you're continue to wallow in your own little world of self-pity and, eventually, step out in front of it.
