Love is Too Proud

Love is Too Proud

A Chapter by Wondering Mind
"

Adapted from a longer poem in Arabic I wrote on our first night.

"

Tell me,
No!
Command me.
Should I burn like a candle
so you can tip-toe
timidly towards tonight?

My pride has no shame to beg,
and Love is too proud for shame.

So I await,
in humble surrender to love
and patiently wait,
for love,
to make love
to love

I spent most of a day tiptoeing between patience and passion once. I knew there must be a connection between the two words and I peddled the question all around the cafe. This reminds me of one of my favorite passages in the Bible. Wonderful words you've written about Love.

This is very beautifully written, its selflessness at its purest form. I hope now that the honeymoon is over, you still feel this way.

Absolutely beautiful! She is indeed a blessed part of your couple! I would at this point pray that mine were to be so!
