Life's Good

my mind knew her
from ages before
in Heavenly  beats
a heart can’t ignore

 

from base to crown
She turns the wheels
She soothes and mends
and tends and heals

 

in Sun beams I see
gold gestures of her hair
and scents of her fill me
as I breathe the air

 

the saphire and blue
in oceans and skies
I see depths of rapture
in her beautiful eyes

 

as I trace and contour
her chasms and curves
I am revived once more
with Life’s ardent verve

In fact, this poem could be interpreted as a comparison between life and a certain woman, either/or, or both...
There is an easy, calming breeziness about this piece which has a cooling and refreshing effect. The rhyme and imagery is gentle and persuasive, and as a whole there is a soft, comforting wisdom in its language. Delivered with clarity, and with a winning, intelligent tone.

Good God. What a stupendous piece. I have fallen in love with the woman you have cherished and showered with words. Love is the same in under all of our skins, and thus it is hard to write poetry on aishq without sounding banal or overused. You have managed to change the convention.
