Regarding, What Are Years?

Regarding, What Are Years?

A Poem by Erin Sky
"

'What are Years?' is a poem by a lady named Marianne Moore that I really enjoy. This is a bit of a response.

"

Years are bundles

of time

that are stacked by barns

When we are young and our silos portly.

stick by stick

we choose and kindle

stick by stick

we loosen the aging, knotted twine

Until the house is built

the belly fed

The trees and flowers built

until we lie adventurous and dead

I like this. I am terribly sad that I haven't read the other poem, but I like your response anyway.
