Pretending

Here we go again

I'm in this place again

I'm by your side 

We're always face to face

 Side by side 

But so far apart.

I stop and wait, and i realize I'm not okay.

I'm holding on

Waiting for a clue

Trying to find the missing piece

For our puzzle

Why don't you say a word?

Instead you just keep pretending

Keeping secrets safe

Every step we take

I wonder if there's more . . . 

Now if you feel the same

It's such a shame that I don't know.

Will we always just keep pretending?

How long do I fantaize?

Make you believe 

That it will all happen

Imagine you will say it

Be brave enough

I wonder if I should say something

to help tear down these unbearable walls

Or to go on pretending

Will we always be pretending?

The audience is watching, mute, apprehsive , assimilation the frames of a story in rapid succession to continue the story of pretense...and when intermission of truce occurs...
they are still sitting there waiting for the cast to resume...and the play carries on..
when the audience sit mute again....silent statues with active minds. The mind's-children of the actors!

I like this piece as to its structure, and the content. The topic is the same, in a sense, in one of my poems that reflects on friendships that are discovered and then fade away on places such as this. But since this is to review your efforts here, I have to say you have done an excellently in describing "pretending friendship" in a more direct and real life way.
