Time and Time

Time and Time

A Poem by Aly

Here I am
In this place again

I still remember you
How could I forget someone like you?

I've been a little naive maybe even a little asleep

Here I am again
I wondering how you are where exactly you are

Are you in your room?
Reading?
Or perhaps maybe thinking of me?

Lately I've been thinking a lot of you.
I never felt farther away from you then right now.

When I close my eyes
I picture you reaching out to me
I am doing the same

I don't want to pretend that I'm fine with not knowing
I don't know how you are doing
I don't wanna be someone who smiles and says everything is okay.

I was once in the highest
Now I am no longer in Cloud 9

I still remember you
Your face
Your voice I heard the other day in my mind.

My dreams and memories are clouding up
They're reaching higher than the sky

I don't remember what's real or not
My daydreams collide with the memories
I now understand why you didn't ask me to wait for you

Time after time I can't help but remember everything.
Lately I've been thinking of the beginning.
When I first began to knew you.

One of your shirts was my favorite
Everything was great
I was the luckiest person in the world.
All because I had the chance to meet you.

I now understand why you didn't ask me to wait for you
Here I am
Wide awake to everything

Aly
I was inspired by what's been going on lately with me and this song "Wide Awake" The cover with Julia Sheer.

I was thinking of Wide Awake when I read the cloud nine part. I just read your authors note now. :) This poem is somewhat more emotional than the others because it's about realizing. Realizing he's been there all the time, but you've just noticed-well, re-noticed, but you get the idea.
Signing off,

Unrequited love, is there anything more painful when you're heart is set on a certain someone...they invade your dreams and thoughts, you've written it well.

Thank you
A great job done of delivering the 'I still miss you" message. Every line convinces. Thanks.

really nice job. I loved this one! There is a lot of great imagery here, wonderful choices in diction. Great, great, great read!

I don't know that song but I found this very sad and very moving, you have paced this with such dramatic effect that a sequence of images flash through my mind representing the meaning I have gathered from your words. In this a point of realisation is reached, but I don't quite get why you weren't asked to wait?

If you knew the whole story you'd understand why he didn't ask me to wait for him.

The last line sort of sums it all up, at least you know where yo stand and must have a purpose now to move on......Dwelling upon the past can be like walking through treacle....Memories can be cherished but must not be allowed to slow you down

thank you
seems to me your inspiration is more along the venue of a certain someone than a song...however, i am often inspired by music to thoughts of fancy and kindlings. this is an awkward place to be in, where you are. many times, have i been here, there is only one way out...straight ahead. backward creates deeper feelings and more disappointment. whether it is with or without them, moving along is the best course to take at this point. this is a genuine and heartfelt write, very nicely done.
