Heart

Heart

A Poem by Tomahawk Joe

                                               Heart
Heart beating, vibrant alive clothed sometimes in black of mourning.
Sometimes in red of love, Yet always exposed beating, beating.
Loving dying.

this shows beautifully the line where love crosses into something painful. no matter what it is, it is always raw emotion.

the use of red and black in terms of love may be a slightly overused image, but you're on the right track with this one! the pain is palpable. great work!

Grief is normal and healthy, but dwelling too long leaves scars. We grow closer to death every day, but don't have to love that fact. be at peace with your death. experience everything along the way with gusto, fervor, and forgiveness in your heart and you'll not be filled with pain and regret at your time. Peace.
