"WRATH OF MEDEA"

"WRATH OF MEDEA"

A Poem by blackdiamondbella
"

This is the second part of my poem about Jason and Medea. In the first poem, Medea is lamenting over Jason's abandonment of her and their sons. In this poem, Medea gains a terrible revenge.

"

The Princess is dead by my dark commands

Taken by my still-bloody hands

Come, my children--my precious boys

Sleep by my side, dream of nothing but joys

Close your eyes--now and for the last

Worry not, my dears--it shall be fast

I will not offer my children for abuse

For another's use and ill-misuse

Keep still, my heart--I shall be brave

They are better dead than living as a slave

One second I shall forget what I most adore

Then I shall mourn my deed forevermore.

Thanks for the invitation to read more of your poems. I too enjoy reading other peoples poetry. Nice writing.

Profound. In her distress, to losing her sons to Jason and his soon to be new bride, this mother-Medea, rather eloquently in this poem, conveys her reasons why. Well crafted, smooth rhythm and rhyme.
