Water

Water

A Poem by Jamie

The future is like water.

It can become lemonade with a squeeze,

It can become Kool-Aid with a pour,

And it can stay clear when you sit still,

Stagnant on the floor.

I’m water.

And I’m lemons.

And I’m a sugar mixture.

But I’m anything but dormant,

And I’m running from this moving floor.

You claim this water so pure.

You claim it to be holy.

You claim it to be translucent.

You claim it to be yours.

I’m not yours,  I’m flavorful to the core.

The middle verse is awesome, it shows you have many sides to you and that you know you can be bitter and sweet... and that last verse is like an anthem to your independence... BRAVO!!

Wow. This was my first read of yours and immediately I've fallen in love. You're so right in everything you say. I must add this to my favourties.
