You and I

You and I

A Poem by Amanda Worthington

I lay my head
upon your chest.
Your warmth,
chases the cold.
Your heartbeat,
beats in time
with mine.
Your hand
laced in my hand.
Your breath
slow and steady.
Your love
so gentle and kind.

And for a moment,
as we lay,
time stops
just for us.
There is no one
but You and I

Amanda Worthington
a little late night poem. It is certainly not one of my best, but tell me what you think :) Comments and constructive criticism are always welcome.

You believe this is not one of your best, but I disagree. I look up to simplicity within art. You carry out your feeling well with a few words. There is much affection felt from this piece of poetry, and it has charming illustrations. Your first stanza alone is no less than perfect to me.

Why do I write? Because I want my opinions and my thoughts to be known. I want to make other people feel what I do. I love it when it's just me and my characters, late at night with no one to interrup.. more..
