Sanctuary Unveiled

Aye! Trek onward in pursuit of peace,
Love and harmony
To silence the sounds of turbulence
That reverberate,
And invade the asylum of the spirit.

When no longer a part of the pack
That alleviates
The constant hunger that gnaws at one
With ferocity,
Mindset is locked into thoughts of lunacy.

Finding not safe refuge torments self,
With sleepless, dark nights,
While tossing about, gripped with terror
Of vivid symbols,
And visions of roaming the land as one dead.

Id must squelch fear of shirking psyche’s
Role in being healed,
As ‘tis said, “To thine own self be true”.
Calm doubts and conquer.
Soul’s sanctuary’s unveiled by shroud of life.

When Morpheus is unkind, we walk through days with dark circles feeling surly. If he persists, there is no peace or harmony in life. Insomnia is awful. We hunger for sleep.....we need it to survive. I know I "roam the land as one dead" if I have not slept in a few days. As always, the imagery is exceptional and the presentation artful. Great work, Sheila. Lydi**

This is wondnerful!
"With sleepless, dark nights,
While tossing about, gripped with terror
Of vivid symbols,
And visions of roaming the land as one dead."
This part really stood out to me.

this is amazing....the introspection, the turbulence within...it does gnaw...and there is lunacy as we try to come to grips with what scares us about ourselves....what we beat ourselves up for...and sometimes there is not a speck of love and harmony, because the "asylum of the spirit" overrides any positive thoughts.
