Some dreams do crash and burn... very powerful work my friend... you really no how to bring out such intense emotions, in this case sorrow and heartbreak...

Hopes of life are gone, of what I wished to be.
Regretful deeds now shadowed o'er by misery.
Moon's light hidden, dark denies proof of love's gain.
Joy's step forward is now backward pushed by pain.

that verse stood out the most for me.

Excellent. Very different from your norm. Shows your diversity and just how good of a writer you are!

You have been writing since long before I knew you, and I have read a good deal of it, with mixed reactions, but I have never read the like of this from your pen! As you've tackled new forms, new skills and new disciplines, your ability and willingness to reach deep into your gut and wrench the pain out by force has increased geometrically! This poem represents a new threshhold for you, Sheila. Extraordinary!

Nicely penned, Sheila. This is a powerful poem with relentless sorrow and grief weighing on the soul. You drown the reader in your misery. We are dragged down to the bottom of the pool with your lost lover and strangle forever on grief with no hope of fresh air.

There are new and extremely creative lines here. The Rock And Roll Cowboy pointed out one of the most inspired: "Joy's step forward is now backward pushed by pain".

Sheila, you're there. You are a powerful poet. This is an immensely haunting piece and all the work you put into it shows. If you're like me, you can feel the tremendous grip of this poem just as your readers can. Congratulations! Well done!

My very best regards,

Rick

Painful. Very painful. How it hurts to lose someone you love. It's like a wound that will never heal. Excellent rhyme and choice of words that bring home the very tragic emotions in your poem. Written brilliantly, great job by you and Rick.

i can see the additional perspective in the form, not your usual sweeping flow. at the same time it is a magnificent combinationin its own right, the graphic
added its perfect tragic touch to desire. shelia, this was a real worthwhile read.
