"i made it for you."

"i made it for you."

A Poem by Faith

These Nyack streets are empty.
Yellow and orange reflecting against each shop window,
I can see myself.
Were walking alone now.
It's raining lightly, but just enough to drench you cold.
Oh, how i can see it perfectly,
Each detail ringing into my head, like another note on a page.
Were in our last days of winter.
So, enjoy your puffy jacket.
My hands are cold and so are his,
You can tell by the way he grasps his coffee.
Each finger locked tightly around the Styrofoam cup.
Resisting his touch is beyond control, but i manage.
He looks down at me, he much taller than i.
We approach a park bench,
Positioned perfectly in front of the most serene lake.
The lake is still, but i can see a family of ducks making their way to the other side,
The biggest ones in the front, the little ones following.
The moons picture appears in the water like a perfect painting.
Shivering, our teeth are shattering.
He's holding me now.
I'm feeling him now.
My fingers are warming one by one.
My memory ends with a kiss.
Now, i sit here.
Missing you, missing that bench.
Remembering those empty Nyack streets.
