My Deepest Pain

My Deepest Pain

A Poem by xNumb
"

For my dearest mother.

"
I'll never forget what you did,
I'll never forget the pain that you caused,
Despite the number of years that have passed,
My bloody punctured heart remains lost,
You swore an oath to keep me safe,
To caress me in your undying love,
But instead you turned away,
You neglected me every day,
You left me alone in the bitter cold,
You left me out to rot and mold,
The monsters came and then attacked,
There's not much left of me intact...
I will always feel this pain,
Because of you I bear this strain,
You broke your sacred vow to me,
You broke your promise, don't you see?
Can you see what you have done?
Do you know the weight of your sin?
You're the culprit, holding the gun,
A speeding bullet, hitting me again and again,
The wounds will always seep,
My blood-red sorrow runs so very deep,
The scarlet drops of my suffering were splashed across the floor,
The products of my pain that you chose to ignore,
You stood by idle while I screamed and I cried,
While you slept with the demon who was tearing me apart,
You vowed to protect me but instead took his side,
You left me for him, how can you have a heart?
You gave me nothing my entire life,
All you did was give me the desire to lift this knife,
You made me ashamed to be in this skin,
You made me feel like I was your sin,
You left me at the lion's den, my heart in my hand,
You left me confused, I didn't understand,
The lion came out and tore me in two,
And all the meanwhile, what did you do??
You stood by and turned a passive eye!!
You left me out, to bleed-out and die!!
The lion tore me limb from limb,
Because YOU left him to his whims,
He hurt me bad but you hurt me worse,
This pain I express with each agonized verse,
You killed what was left in the good in me,
YOU did this, not he,
He pulled the trigger but you left me for dead,
You stood there and watched while I laid there and bled,
I held onto hope that you would see,
The pain this man was causing to me,
But your neglect hurt me more than any cut,
It hurt worse than a dagger to the gut,
You were my lifeguard, but you left me to drown,
My shining angel, but you let me down,
My one-man army but you didn't come to my aid,
Instead you allowed me to burn and then fade,
All this pain is because of you!!!
What the hell did you do?!
What gave you the right to go back on your vow?!
How could you even do it? HOW?!
You swore to love me but clearly you lied,
And because of you, so much of me has died,
Deception always was your finest art,
So now I hate you with all my heart,
How you can live with what you did, I cannot see,
But from this point on, you are officially dead to me,
So good-bye,
And go die.
