Fraudulent Love

Fraudulent Love

A Poem by Anita Harris

Sitting

   Waiting

In the snow

Sitting

    Waiting

for you to show

doubt and truth

merge as one

as I sit

And Wait

for you to come

fear rises in my heart

wondering if I should depart

Sitting

   Waiting

In the snow

   All this time

I should have known

This is amazing,
loved the set up.
Nicely written and expressed.

This reminds me of Piorphyria's Lover...not the choking with the hair but the first part where he's waiting for his mistress to come home. The building of anticipation is similar, and the waiting seems longer than the poem.
Or to switch gears, we all have waited in the proverbial snow for something. The check in the mail
the boyfriend to call
the drunk wife to come hom from the club
its all cold and all horrible.

Great poem to start off the day with, as its 31 degrees outside and I'm waiting for the day to end

Aloha...Loved your poem...it was great...loved how the words seem to float and fall like a snow flake in this soft crescendo...the snow flake representing this love...I even love the simplicity of the flow...just perfect.
