Latent Love

Latent Love

A Poem by Richard Morimanno

Oh, to tell her how I feel,

Would take a heart of solid steel.

For if I were rejected,

I’d know my delicate heart’s protected

But, my heart’s of solid flesh,

No sign, no hint of chain-mailed mesh.

Lay assailable naked and bare.

In front of her beauty, so fine, so rare.

Do I take this one last chance,

in hopes my heart will sing and dance?

Or keep this hidden deep in me,

And stay forever in secrecy?

It flows so beautifully, and your chosen words were perfect. If this is truly how you feel about a girl, I suggest you let her read it. I'm sure it would leave her breathless!
