The Journey Awaits

The Journey Awaits

A Poem by xlovehatealicex

I need myself

                   before I can have you.

I want you

                   before I can find me.

The me now

may not be the me later.

The you later

will still be the you now.

Why does time fly?

I have yet to find out where

     I am.

I am where I have yet

     to look.

The disinterest

     in your eyes.

The eyes that show the

     lack of curiosity.

Why does time fly?

I wish

         I knew you.

I know

         you don’t wish to see.

The loss

for words that explain what I need to know.

The need

to know why I’m out of loss for these words.

Why does time fly?

I hope when time flew it took you and you found yourself in some place you know now. Hopefully that place is a nice one. And the disinterest in those eyes, the lack of curiosity, were simply because the journey hadn't yet begun because the journey awaits. I hope you found your words.
