Love Lost, Love Regained

Love Lost, Love Regained

A Poem by Dandy Mbuong
"

Many absurd things happen when love is lost, but we can open our hearts to new love we would save a lot injuries.

"
On losing the girl I truly love;
I did not fall on her knees and begged her to stay,
I did not turn to alcohol and stop eating as days go by,
No, I did not stop working nor visiting the grove.
On losing the time spent; I did not ask for a dime or half,
I did not mention it to God each time I pray,
I did not sit here and there thinking the right words to say,
No, I did not wail nor wane away nor falloff.
On losing the girl that I love truly;
I did not call my friends, her friends nor any helpline,
I did not set compass to trace her new love at any time,
No, I did not call her ugly names to make her unhappy.
On losing her; I did not pinch her, she knows I can’t hurt a fly,
I did not force her to change her mind,
I did not stop going out with my friends to drink some wine,
No, I did not take poison, I did not hang myself on a tree.
On regaining the love I truly lost;
I did not conclude that all girls are just the same,
So, on regaining the love I truly lost,
All I did was to forget and love again.
