A Dancing CubA Poem by Ruby NievesI am starting to have a gist with harmony. You invited me to the dance Yet I do not know how to waltz I depend on you for the steps And you let me respond with a prance For days and days, you bounce forward And for days and days, I pace onward Then I got a hold to our timing Familiarizing myself to the melody Time approached Which made me confused The harmony seems varied Now, I fancy the rhythm And become cozy to the mingling Should I revise my steps? Would you notice my progress? Without change, nothing will grow So I modified. Now, I'm wary of my new groove Wondering if you're getting annoyed With my new and improved move Sorry for I am still a cub In this rhythmical club Figuring out what steps to make And what path to take I do not wish to stop the music For it makes my day perfect
