A Little Too Much To Say

A Little Too Much To Say

A Poem by T.Y.N.P.

These notions fly around the room,

in short bursts of conversation;

it races through the streets, and echoes

the feelings of a nation.

Small talk flows around me

as I sink into my mind,

this whirling, tumbling, crashing mess

that steps far out of line.

A mass of disjointed perceptions,

memories old and new;

I struggle to keep myself from ever

clawing out at you.

I strain to stop harsh thoughts before

they begin to seep

through my fingers, out my mouth,

because I’m in too deep.

So, ‘fore babbling righteous nonsense,

I really have to go,

for when my mind blows up a storm,

I simply watch it blow.
