Beginnings of endings

A Chapter by Raquella

She shot through life, forgetting the people unknown. She drank the Devil’s water, and kissed his wounds. When she saw the war-bitten eyes, and cracked skin, she could never comprehend the immensity of it, the pain and torture that goes along with it. She used to watch the stars collide, and she used to think about the Night and his dark, unforgiving punishments. She stood, perched on the edge of happiness, and waited for the old punishments to ensue. She stayed up all night,
staring into the stars, and she prayed to the River that someday she could be the
spirit that looms in the Water, and that she could take the words of the souls, then cast them out as her own. She prayed that someday she could shed her cracked skin and find a new home under a fresh surface. She waited alone until the sun finally showed her it’s glowing smile. And then she floated home into the world’s darkest unknowns that she longed to kiss. She was just a girl who shot through life, who forgot the people unknown. She drank from the devil’s water and un-zipped his fatal wounds, but, tonight, she will still break apart,

only to find herself,
only to find herself.
