An Ode to My Unsung Song

An Ode to My Unsung Song

An ode to my unsung song

Here on a sacred, starless night;

the echoed rhythms swallowed the light.

And runic spells did abound;

awakening pathways all around.

A wish to conquer endless doubts;

miles I walked, wandered about.

Blessed moonlight touched my soul;

washed I was, in that nightly stroll.

So wandering weary the pathway home;

there is an odyssey I must seek alone.

Yet I confess this dark place so desolate;

enshrouds and haunts me while I wait.

That what has been caged so long;

an ode it was to my unsung song.

Whispered my heart and clouded mind,

to seek what I had left behind.

Now step by step I meander the stars;

each a light in my painted memoirs.

And the music of my soul takes flight.

Endless rhapsody of the wild finite.

I follow the way to my heart's content;

blinding lights can't stop my descent.

From the heavenly sky towards the earth,

a quest it is to find my worth.

Arise, oh dawning sun of my soul;

erase arid illusions and make me whole.

Sense the brushed incantations of van Gogh;

conjuring this City of Lights in indigo.

I felt the stars entering my heart,

whence I was falling apart.

And I let it take me to places afar,

as I followed my shooting star...

Flaring from the stars rose a hymn,

in its muted melody my mind did swim.

The chorus transformed into a lullaby,

mesmerizing mist of a migrating butterfly.

Awakening crystals of my eyes,

capturing all the beauty of the skies.

And now I breathe, here at last;

lie forgotten, the miseries of my past...

I love these lines so much. I believe these lines talks in behalf of everything.

"I follow the way to my heart's content;
blinding lights can't stop my descent.
From the heavenly sky towards the earth,
a quest it is to find my worth."

Finding worth is truly such a quest in life ad it is good to know you would do all your might to know and have it. :) Keep writing.

There is such a joy in the journey, especially when a song deep within you finally finds it voice along that pathway. And what a joy to share a part of that path with you, Yumna! Thank you for your gracious spirit, and for giving us all some light as we walk through this life. 😊

there are words and music to life that we have not written or sung yet...it is all to come....we make up the lyrics as we go along---and the song seems to write itself...

love the imagery here.
