Kingdom of Dreams

Experimental. Kind of dreamy ;p

A blanket of stars 

on an ebony sky,

 

freshly mown grass 

on a bright rainy day

 

a carpet of - half made promises.

 

I walk on, miles and miles 

towards the sound 

of your distant roar,

 

echoing; tempting me forward --

 

I reach out 

to the confines 

of where we built our

 

 kingdom ~ of dreams.

I love this, YumnaKay. So thoughtful, and it does have a dreamy feel to it. I love the image you chose to accompany the poem as well—it fits. Overall, the poem reminds me of an old friend I wish I was still friends with. I guess it gives me a bittersweet feeling, but also a bit of sadness. Anyway, thank you for your beautiful words! :)
