Ephemeral

Ephemeral

A Chapter by Dr. YumnaKay
"

Experimental. Written off the top of my head...

"
Life smiles
when you do,

everything falls
back to place.

The sound of
your distant breath;

ephemeral,

 yet...
lasting
~
an eternity...

Just the word is a poem it seems. And then you paint the colors of light around it, and bring the moment to life. A breath. An eternity. All the world flowing in and out of focus. Written off the top of your head? What a brilliant space up there, dear poet. :)

Realistic wisdom shared in the first lines. You are writing like the old Poet by the sea. With a experience pen. Leaving the reader with something to think about. Thank you dear friend for sharing the amazing poetry.

You are welcome dear friend.
Good Lord, just reread my first review. You deserve better than that. I think once I "clarified" the smile your first line contains to a " sincere" smile, it was perfect and perfectly true. I'm sorry my personal demon dictated my first response, but I will reiterate: her sound of her breath will last the eternity that is the remainder of my heart's beating.

Not at all, Carol. I loved your review! Thanks again (:
You poem is beautiful. Unfortunately, due to circumstances (i.e.: my mother's fast approaching death), I have a snarky attitude. Life does not always smile when you smile back. I hope that is true for you, but today, for me, not so much. But, you being you, and having the soul of a true poet, ended this perfectly: the sound of her distant breath will last the eternity that my heart lives. Final diagnosis: splendidly done, first reaction is my personal demon riding my back at this time, and solace is found in the final words. Well done...again. Thank you

As ever with your personal take on how life can and
should be. Such sweet phrasing - in fact, a hug of words

I have to compete with your other reviewers, sometimes works!! My pleasure.
Lovely, tender words. Great unique formatting to the right and use of open-ended punctuation. Gives each line continuum- ephemeral but everlasting. "Life smiles..when you do"- such a beautiful line!

Thank you for appreciating, Annette. Glad you like the formatting too (:
It certainly smiles when some people do Yumna and since smiling is indicative of happy and happy is driven by good energy and energy is never destroyed - ergo eternal - then I concur on a scientific level.
On a feely level this reminded me of someone who makes me smile and I did...so thank you for that.

Onions always smile - (see avatar) - people cry when killing onions because of this.

Lmao I still like the sleepy dog avatar more haha 😉😛
Seems more humane ;)
I loved the way you have used the word ephemeral and attributing eternity to it in the end. I loved the message in it. Nicely done
