Dimensions

Dimensions

A Chapter by Dr. YumnaKay
"

Experimental. Afternoon scribbles.

"
I am young, they say; full of life and meaning.
Yet, when I look back, my reflection's pallid;
my stare is that of death.

I lift weights unseen, unbidden.
Striving, every day a gentle reminder
to remain calm.

My head throbs but my lips,
oh they smile, plastered ...
until the muscles around my face ache.

I am speechless yet my laugh sounds cynical.
 I freeze with my looks. Stripped bare,
I clutch at the corners of my heart, ready to flip;

it swings ~ in unspeakable dimensions.

How you carry us into the deeper places of you, of your mind, your thoughts that whisper through you as your eyes swallow whole the world. I can sense you there, these masks of light trying to cover the darker pathways of your being. Extraordinary transparency, dear poet.

' Stripped bare,.. .. .. .. I clutch at the corners of my heart'

How physical appearance, mood, spirit is portrayed depends on choice. Too often we hide selves, then erect facades that can so easily become permanent. There are few who can honestly declare this is me.. complete, real. Tis fear, history perhaps and oft times loneliness that freeze the spirit.

We make ourself malleable.. perhaps. Such an honest write.. and painful too.

Heavy thoughts on a hot afternoon!

Ah, the weights, and the plaster... puling down and covering up. Ah, the stripping and the bare exposure...hot and cold, here and there, up and down, beating time - as the hands move...

The many layers of existence sometimes is faced with with the lies of an unbreakable mask. Hiding deep within the sorrows of the struggle yet the shell and masks speak untruths.

Always and with love

Multi-dimensional introspection of life, reality and love. We are reminded to remain calm albeit the confusion and turmoil within and all around us. Find a way, meaning and a purpose. Excellent...

Life is a odd journey. We will always learn and test life. Many places we shall know and we will change our life and view often.
"it swings ~ in unspeakable dimensions."
The above. True and necessary. Thank you dear friend for sharing the amazing poetry.

Couldn't get any more raw than that with this one, Yumna. Those lines hit me hardest because of how relatable they are. I genuinely love what this write was turned into. :)

introspection at its finest....what others see is not the real me---
the weight of confusion, of loneliness of feeling disconnected...i can mask that for others...
i put on a good show----but if only they knew.
