Nothing Left To Say...

Nothing Left To Say...

A Chapter by Dr. YumnaKay
"

Spontaneous thoughts.

"
Sometimes, we reach a point in life
where we have nothing left to say to each other,
yet it feels like nothing ever was said.

Reminds me of Vladimir Holan, his poem "Human Voice"

Stone and star do not force their music on us,
flowers are silent, things hold something back,
because of us, animals deny
their own harmony of innocence and stealth,
the wind has always its chastity of simple gesture
and what song is only the mute birds know,
to whom you tossed an unthreshed sheaf on Christmas Eve.

To be is enough for them and that is beyond words. But we,
we are afraid not only in the dark,
even in the abundant light
we do not see our neighbour
and desperate for exorcism
cry out in terror: 'Are you there? Speak!'

This is exactly how I feel about my siblings. Being from a severely broken family of rampant abuse, we were taught (by threat) to NOT share, never to reveal what's going on, so we never really talked. Now, decades later, I can't think of one thing to say to any of them (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

That was what it was, yes. Thank you for reading and your words here, Lyn.
Your words are so intimate and yet so profoundly public, resonating with so many lives who ache to remember while they achingly forget. Your poetry often brings me to tears because it seems you have snuck into my soul and exposed the secret shadows there.
