Insensibility Song

Insensibility Song

A Chapter by Dr. YumnaKay
"

Sunday ramblings. Title suggestion by Sarah_Allen_Poe.

"
I struggle to keep up, with things
and people that matter to me
the most, and in my haste to make

things right, I end up with my hands
clutched mid-air and with maniac
laughs that fill my ears to no ends...

and headphones blare with music
which makes no sense, yet all
consuming, as I drown myself into

an ocean of seemingly-soothing
rhythm that rocks my heart.
And when night falls, an aura so gold

surrounds me in its entirety;
for a moment, just for a moment,
I forget who I am...

Author's Note

Dr. YumnaKay
Sometimes, it becomes easier to forget everything and to just hold on to that feeling of hope, be it in the shape of a person or thing. The music keeps blaring on, driving us senseless...

this reminds me of the feeling of losing the mind...much like Dickinson's "I felt a funeral in my brain"--

i grew up with Rock and Roll...music has always been such a big part of me---i understood it from the inside out...but now as i age...maybe the lyrics, the beat are getting a bit blurry...
and maybe i am hanging to who i am by just a thread.

I agree, music today seems more forgettable than leaving a lasting impression...

I'm not sure of your entire message here, but I'm very sure about what it conjures up in me! I love how music takes me away from whatever dreary slice of life I may be stuck in. Sometimes it sends me back to a younger time & the memories that I forgot . . . sometimes it makes me want to dance like a kid & forget about my stiff painful body these days. All in all, you focus on a very relatable aspect of life -- relating to music -- & you present your message with a ton of bright originality! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Thank you so much for reading and appreciating, Ardra :-)
Oh, you musta gained that over achiever ear, where other people's music has been drawn to your ear. Your hearing their thoughts and emotions in the music and so it's not making sense. It's kinda like when you cross genres. It happens when there is not enough self, when we grow quickly, or when we devote our selves to service. Lines become lost and what we hear chaotic..no quietness in self. I pray for your gentle reflection this week and give Thanks during my cultures week of gratitude! Many Blessings YumnaKay!
