To Deceive and to Spurn

To Deceive and to Spurn

A Poem by Zach Lape

Deception,
Corruption,
Efforts in vain,
Elusive destruction,
Ultimately pain,
I'll conceived seduction,
Proved my bane,

For what is a tear,
If it has fallen in the rain?
What hold has fear,
If nought to lose or gain?
Would you bring forth shame,
And take what's mine to claim?
For we are not the same,
It is you whom I blame,

For what it is from my mind you stole,
Tranquility,
Peace,
In heart not, save a hole,
Its essence torn,
Its cavity a chasm,
Olden thoughts of you only phantasm...

Perhaps it was my heart you stole,
But kept it not, for of it you sold,
Into hatred itself, much as your soul,
Delivered to the hands of execration,
Perhaps even desecration,
Soon wrought upon you ten fold -

You'll reside in hell, if they'll take you,
From sleep of death, I shall not wake you,
At hades very door, I shall forsake you,
But thus only after I break you,
Into the ground I will make you,
And even then the ground will shake you,
Vomit your filth up to the sky,
Who's gaze would turn it's pale blue eyes,
For of you it is we all despise,

Of your wretched air I've been asphyxiated,
The toxic air my lungs does clench,
From all happiness alleviated,
My emotion you did wrench...

But now I'll not grieve,
For some thoughts to relieve,

The time spent in thought of you,
Would have served me better in flames,
My hate for you, all I knew,
In scream I would curse your name,
Mind and body lacking ability,
Enveloped in its own stupidity,
The illusion of your mind left to rot,
In your very own imbecility,

So of this tear in the rain had fallen,
Would not grace your very end,
Of the pain I would not give you half,
Your sorrows more I would send,

Accursed be your very epitaph,
For I and not you now will mend.
