The winter crows

The winter crows

A Poem by Zugzwang

The winter crows are back,
cawing about God knows what;
robbing nests,
spearing baby birds,
and sundry
other
atrocities.

Oof. I felt this one. Nature is a cruel beast.
The feelings evoked by the imagery of the "baby birds" line are like a quick needle to the heart.

Is this a piece from school? I dig it 👍
