A Penny for Your Thoughts

Can't think of any good stories now (except for fanfics), so I'll write some poems. Bleah :P Inspired by a random picture I remember of a guy standing in the middle of the city with a tire.

A penny for your thoughts is worth nothing

The butter in butterfly melted

That rolling stone is gathering moss

And the ladybug burned her dress

 

As I stand here alone on the street

With all that is left of my car

A penny for your thoughts is worth nothing

When I should've died today

 

A penny for your thoughts in worth nothing

As the sun sets on my dreams

And I hear the crunch in the junkyard

Of my would-be deathbed today

 

As I lie in bed awake

Clutching the tire to my heart

Just know that your thoughts are worth something

As long as you're alive today

You move from the bleak and despairing to the encouraging quite seamlessly in this poem. Stark images softened by the gentle tone along the way. I liked it - more please!
