Intimacy

Intimacy

A Poem by Quietstorm

Meeting you was no accident, we crossed paths for all the right reasons. We didn't accidentally bump into each other.
You found me at the right SEASON,
at a moment in my life where my
Heart couldn't stop freezing, but
Over time you've given me a reason
to keep breathing, keep believing
that LOVE will find me.
You introduced me to this thing we call
*INTIMACY*
Intimacy that was non-physical, not the traditional "get me hot and wet", pumping and sweating til my river overflows uncontrollably , but INTIMACY without the sex.
I want you to make love to my mind that will allow my mental climax to send pressure points
through my soul.
I want to Have and to Hold you in the physical
While getting acquainted with the mental. I want you to hold me
as if it were the last time
we relax and unwind,
Soft music plays in the background as you rub your fingers through my hair, lying face to face , your eyes meet my glare
hands never glide....down, it stays
above my waist , as we pace ourselves for the mental embrace,
Kisses full of passion, but the kisses never left my face, we discovered that we're not ready to involve every body part,
Only to stimulate the mind, and focus on the heart.
Together we'll indulge in whatever comes next.
I'll give you Intimacy in every way , but as for now
We will indulge ourselves in
INTIMACY Without the sex

Your poem conveys the essence of intimacy. Revealing our hearts and souls to each other is intimacy, not shedding our clothes. It's vulnerability, the strength to show it, and the desire to see it, that is true intimacy. And, as your poem implies, it's so rare. An original, insightful work.
