Black Birds

Black Birds

A Poem by Cpt. Alex Rover

Sometimes, we cry, Other times, we cry alot

The black birds cry the tears of my heart,
For in it I know nothing
but love, for you, my dear

The raven's shriek threatens to shatter my prose
fragile, I hold on by a thread
and that thread is you, my dear

The rain showers the birds with wet despair
I hope they try to stay
but that would be unlike you, my dear

The birds go away, this verse is my last
And though I talk of losing you, only the birds will know

That You
