Forsaken's End

Forsaken's End

A Poem by Doodley
"

For Love's abandoned.

"
Greetings thee, Darkness, mine friend!
Didst absence leaveth thee bereft and frail?
Returneth has't thee to caress and mend,
Mine anemic heart that love hath fail?

For Siren song hath pierced mine sail,
To smash me against her seductive rocks,
As Ahab fool in pursuit of whale,
I hath fallen as prey to her callous mocks.

Whither once Life shone as bright as beams,
That lit the path of Love mine way,
Hath now been dulled to fog of dreams,
Whither cast adrift and lost I stay.

No more Love's sparrows calleth mine name,
Nor crimson rose bow at mine feet,
For vultures feast this wasted frame,
In exuberant delight at mine defeat.

So comfort me, Darkness, mine friend!
Cloak me tight in thy sable embrace,
And restore the essence of mine blend,
To potent peaks of strength and grace.

Fastened unto thy succored teat,
Away! Away! I shalt dissolve with thee!
To flee these manacles of raging heat,
Unto the lodging that summons me.

Beyond the leap of torture's bound,
Across the desolated glen,
To lay upon the fertile ground,
Betwixt the bowels of shattered men.

Then Darkness, friend, shalt taketh thy leave,
Amidst mine screams of Lycan bay,
Mine suffering soul shalt wail and grieve,
Unless the healing salve holds sway.

And thither beneath forsaken sky,
Amongst mine scores of brethren kin,
I'll lay me down to rest and die,
Beneath the tears of River Fin.

And with mine last of shallow breath,
This fool shalt keepeth mine ears attune,
For Siren song to stall mine death,
Should it returneth to me so soon.

Often we may fall victim to a world ever so fast
For those whom hold any form of sentiment
The thought of seperating from a lover
is truly intolerable
Overnight it would feel like a world of people have abandoned this soul
Yet maybe the truth of an emotion
is distance
Once again Doodley you have not failed at delivering an abundance of emotion
You are a very talented writer with a very big heart

Great you see you around here again.

I love this poem. After a bad encounter with a siren, it makes sense for one to welcome the darkness, hopefully only briefly. Abandonment can change people, can take a part of who they are.

Sometime it is really tough to hold on at a turn of life..but it leaves us with many lessons and it's important yet painful to cross that known path again and again..but I like the way you describe the journey somewhere the way of accepting can free a bit of load and with your words you just blow the readers to a wonderful poetic path..as usual your write always fetches an extra care and peaceful heart...just wonderful !!!

You're welcome. ☺
I enjoyed the journey in your words. You know. Myth and tale is my favorite. More sirens than muses in a life. We need both. Perfect ending to the amazing poetry my friend.
