An End To The Beginning

An End To The Beginning

A Poem by Poppy Ruth Silver
"

Fall and rise and as I go to share, the captcha was undyed :) Seems apt...

"

Fourth of August
digits she would remember for the rest of her days
no more would the cacophony of the world silence her voice
she would continue to sing and hide her song from no-one
no more would she react rather than respond to the chaos of life
she would trust in the universe and be Priestess to her own intuition
no more would she dwell in shadows because she was misunderstood
she would be the Witch she was born to be in full magickal glory
no more would she doubt herself and fear her path
she would rise from the searing flames reshaped
no more would she be the fragile girl afraid of demons in the night
she would be the woman with nature's glow in her heart
no more would she answer to those who ridiculed or suffocated her will
she would scream at the moon and howl with wise wolves
no more would she lament the past or loose connections
she would embrace the fragrance of future in sandalwood tones
no more would she feel guilty for being a sensitive being
she would guard her soul with a passion never seen
no more would she see awakening as a smooth transition
she would claim and own her flaws and imperfections
no more would she let the vampires feed from her energy source
she would reign as Queen in her own land of dragons and blackbirds
no more would she feel inferior to others who condemned her so
she would shine in silver tones and outshine the doubters
no more would she dye her hair red to be someone she was not
she would be her natural self and recognise her own worth
no more would she let hostility seep into her aura
she would protect herself from the anger of others
no more would she suffer invasion of a narcissistic mother
she would be mother to herself and heal the wound
dig deep little girl
hit rock bottom old soul
only you can save yourself
scream warrior woman
release the crows

Poppy, this is such an empowering write....but I must tell you the first line is what made it all for me. My mom's birthday was August 4th....it is a date I can not and will not ever forget. She was a strong woman and so are you. This is powerfully emotional and I loved it. Lydi**

I loved this description of a woman trying to find her independence after such emotional abuse. Nicely penned.

a new declaration of independence. a new constitution. a very strong write both in wording & message. sometimes we have to put a stake in the ground or draw a line in the sand for change. speaks to enough is enough and time for things to change. catchy title & pic. you always write so strongly & beautifully with lots of feeling. i like it very much.

Feels of a short snapshot about the narrator with the realization and overcoming of adversities in life. A lot of people direct their anger and hostilities on us and expect us to react and stoop to their level. This is powerful and empowering...:)..............

You are welcome, Poppy.
My smile got wider with each word I read of this poem. Strength is the way to counter all adversities. It lies nowhere else but in yourself. I can hear the drum beats, go claim everything you deserve..Shabash :)

taking back the power of being who she really is...
powerful poem, Poppy...
this is really releasing the crows...
this is like Tina finally getting away from Ike...and being her own person...and knowing that she is powerful in her own right.
