Sonnet for my Phantom

Sonnet for my Phantom

A Poem by Raven Moonchild

Shadow of a forgotten past,
 shaped like my soul.
Slashing away at new hopes cast.
Drilling through my mind,taking its' toll.
A lifetime said and done,
 memories etched in stone.
Darkness consuming the Sun;
 silent and alone.
No mouth for screams,
 no eyes to stare.
Broken dreams;
 frozen air.

   Keep by my side,friend I hate.
  Reminder of what I left at the gate.

Could it be a form of guilt? Wanting to be reminded of someone bad now done and buried so as to know they will never be here to bother you again?

Sorry for sounding so dumb with my review. :)
