Rocky bed

Rocky bed

A Poem by NANCY DON

Rocking and rocking
The bed kept shaking
Then shook the table

At last the roof gave way
To new skies
And heightened canopies

The earthquake shook the shore
And with it it tore
The tiny family in Manila
With husband and she

Now only she.

You did well. Just change she to her. A perfect flow of thought then. You create situation, danger and proper ending. Thank you Nancy for sharing your words and the poetry.

A nice first poem.....

Your piece is well written. Simple yet with a tinge of pathos for the circumstances behind it; those that suffer the effects of Earthquakes and lose more than just property to it's power.

Good job.
