WORDS

Malleable

Pulled or stretched at whim

Their innards prodded, poked

Their sanctity ripped apart

By the tip of a fallacious pen

Words…

Mere spittle in the wind

Sputtering of fanciful minds

LOVE

Capricious

A misnomer for lust

A fickle arrow on vulnerable parts

Juvenile in its expectations

Delusional, claiming eternity

Love…

Of noble intention, feeble of pulse

Often needing a defibrillator

PAIN

A flimsy pursuit

The suppository of choice

To dull the ache of nothingness

A figment fabricated

In the unfilled chambers

Of vacant hearts

Pain…

A luxury for those bleeding

in life’s killing fields

LIFE

A bitter sweet journey

Of hope, lofty dreams

Of stars to be touched

In a myriad of seasons

A story of unending struggle

and strife

Life…

Often ended by a stray bullet

lodged in some vital human part

Each word you point out demonstrates that even something good can have its bad side or delusions; the hollow mirror images which lead to disappointment.

I believe each of those encompasses a search for something that is perhaps, futile without the purity of a heart-based persuit. Thus, not poetic with the natural flow of life.

A beautiful poem. I liked how you defined each word. Each one define with skill and kindness. Words, love, pain and life. All things we must discover and to understand. Thank you dear Divya for sharing your amazing words and thoughts.

I love your work and you are welcome dear Divya.
I enjoy the way you infiltrate our thoughts and cause reassessment within. In this write, our most profound ideals, no matter how we word them, may be convoluted and negated in some minds and become futile in the face of life's uncertainty. Everything under the sun is fleeting and meaningless. Yet however fleeting, a kind word can lift many hearts from the pit of despair.

Words, Love, pain, and life are siblings. "The suppository of choice ..." "By the tip of a fallacious pen..." "A story of unending struggle ..."

Thanks for your insightful words...
Like how your journey starts with words.
Those words can lead to love.
Love can also be extremely painful.
If life teaches us anything. It teaches us wisdom.
But as you say at the end. Life can end very quickly.
Wise words, DIVYA>

Feels personal.
You have really dived into the depth of what is real in human life. This poem throws light on different aspects of life keeping to the boundary of not what is said about life but what is experienced in course of it . Your poetic skill seems to be blooming like the summer rose .Really artistic , it can be looked upon as the overflow of your emotional feelings that make any reader plunge into the bottom of what we call life . Best of luck for further finer writing .

I am so grateful for the kind review. Thank you so much Matthew!
I think your title is a very fine and clever juxtaposition in my humble opinion, this is indeed, compelling poetry Divya!

Yes, for the fortunate few born into this world with silver spoon in mouth, they never know or feel nor even care to know or feel that many, many less so privileged, are subject to the yearning and hurt of life's struggles and hardships to a far greater degree than them so ' well heeled' !!

A quite studious and compassionate, heartfelt write my friend, you truly are a fine wordsmith, blessed with a creative talent that you put to use in noble form!
