Butterfly Project

A Poem by Shattered

A fragile little creature

Caught in a painter's twist

Where the paintbrush is a razor

And the canvas is their wrist

A tiny little creature

Symbolic of change

A gentle little creature

Bearing a loved one's name

It is there to help you

To stop you from self-harm

To get you through each day

Without mutilating your arm

To go through with it is to kill it

You must let it stay

When you feel it's ready

It will slowly fly away

A fragile little creature

Carrying a loved one's name

To get you through the sadness

And guide you through the pain

A nice one. I love the use of figures of speech...

I love that little bit because the comparison of something in your words, fragile and something so beautiful and delicate compared to something so hard hitting and imagery being so contrasting is so powerful - this is a great write and line!

but i also love how it accept that something dark can eventually also find light

i love, love, love this!
