The Last Day

The Last Day

A Chapter by Debbie Barry

Written the last day of 7th grade, a poem about school and summer vacation.

The Last Day

June, 1982

The last day is here at last.
All our tests are over and past.
We all will miss our teachers, dear,
But we may see them again next year.
For this day we've waited long,
And now we sing this parting son.
To all our teachers who we will miss,
We say this now,
"Are we dismissed?"
