Welcome

July 5, 1987

I was a child
When you entered my life.
I was a child
With deep-grown emotions.

I was distressed
When you entered my life.
I was distressed
Because I understood not.

I grew from a child
With you in my life.
I grew from a child
And love for you came.

I was a young woman
When I knew the future.
I was a young woman
When I welcomed you home.

I am your daughter
Now while you support me.
I am your daughter
And love my father's support.

For Daddy-Doug with love from Basic Training.
