Again -- But Not

Again -- But Not

A Chapter by Debbie Barry

A poem about loneliness and isolation.

Again - But Not

August 2, 1988

Alone again.
No, not really alone -
This time.
Just alienated
From my husband.
Afraid again.
No, not really afraid -
For a change.
Just confused
About my life.
Lost again.
No, not really lost -
But not found.
Just lonely
On an empty night.
