Communion

July 30, 1991

A sandy field
Of autumn wheat,
A babbling
River pure,
A pair of hands
And humble heart
Become the bread
Of life.

Sundrenched fields
Of golden grapes,
Another
Babbling brook,
Many hands
And pious hearts
Bring forth
The sacred drink.
