The Life I Could Live

Someone looks over things he could have done.

The life I've lead so far, is not as strange as the one I almost lived
I could have lived the life of the man in my head
The man is a lover, a singer, a dancer, a pimp, a prostitute, a movie star, a lawyer, a cop, a thief, and a magician.

The life I've experienced so far is not as strange as the one I almost experienced
I could have experienced the life the man inside of my head experienced
The man witnessed pleasure, applause, rhythm, wealth, sex, fame, prestige, justice, stealth, and surprise.

I'm none of these things, I'm all of these things. I experience the life lived by the man in my head, for I keep him prisoner, in a large cell, of my imagination.

The person in your head, the person you could, should, would have been if you followed the other path, no matter what it was. And you're right. That person lives inside of you. And when you let them out, you get to explore all of those possibilities, if only for a little while. I think if you played with the layout a little, it could really add to it.
