A Poem by Jeff Bresee

Granite grandeur draped in snow

Soft whisper falls

Clear water flows

No hand extends to measure time

No cares ascend

No worries find

For purpose fades into the still

A tranquil peace

Here in the chill

What part of time and space am I

So small beneath the endless sky

A spec of dust, a grain of sand...

Yet cradled in the Master’s hand

Beautifull words painting an awesome spiritual picture of life.

A lesson that we as humans have more difficulty than any in learning is that we CAUSE nothing, but we AFFECT everything. Minute as we are, we are a central part of the Grand Plan, for if we were not, we would not be here. A beautiful realization of our tininess, yet despite that, our significance.

When I read your lines, I feel like I'm up in the high Sierra, backpack on, and all my cares left below. Really great mood capture. Like magic.

I hear the word.
Freely I obey with faith
God's eternal call

This is amazing. It is exactly what the title says. A beautiful thought :) I can't get over how you can use so few words and yet have so much effect!

No one line speaks absolute perfection to me, but rather each in its relationship to the others. Your poems always have the best flow that carries from one line to the other perfectly.

I read your poems and totally understand. It's that first stanza, slowly bringing the reader in and the final that really hits home.

This is a very beautiful piece, the last two lines really capture the whole poem and bring it all together. The passion is here , we are all small and yet to ourselves are we not almost everything? It's almost hard to look up and wonder how small we really are.
