Casa

A Poem by Sami Khalil
"

The house of our past memories. The house of upbringing or love...

"

Casa/(House in Italian)………………………………By Sami Khalil

A sad romance poem. Going back to the house of your fading memories…

Note: Sorry for the hard work you have to do for some. Look some up you will appreciate the poem.

House of our birth and memories of upbringing stands as a patriot guarding our memories after we have outgrown it and left it decaying but we love to go back to it. Or it could be the house of marriage and love before the death of one’s love. Or the summer house of visits and vacations.

The Poem:

The blanched house stands… abandoned

Dappled home to Assumption silhouettes

Noctuary patriot to scabrous perfervidity

Piteously decaying; amongst lover’s bets.

Randomly dehiscing those lost pareidolias

Solemn hauteurs of crapulent, gaping visions

Upon doom, gloom rises from ingravescent pits

Surmounting belfries of their echoed collisions.

Where bells strike in their muted redundancy

While scornful opprobrium’s pelt at us away

Anamneses raise high to lofty aquiline summits

Through serrated edges, morning lights sway.

Great poem my friend. Reminds me of our inner soul being incased in this outer shell of skin.
Like an egg yolk and shell holding itself together.
Great words to spawn great thinking. Thanks.

Very impressive writing. Sometimes it seems its better not to go back.
Somehow it always hurts, those changes. Unexpected changes.

You have an amazing vocabulary. All profoundly deep. An old familiar feeling to trace our birth place and humble beginnings. I knew that feeling well. Well penned .
