Murder at the Highlands/By Sami Khalil

A murder mystery poem... Based on a true story of savagely murdered elderly and wealthy woman at the Highlands.

=========================================================================================================

Footsteps faded in rapt thought as the air was pushed in anger, traced by malignant effects.

In death’s grip, the stolen shadows slipped past frosted silences of breaths, under the shattering of echoes.

In the quiet of condemnation, the lady of the Highlands had her conversation with death, fated in a unified theory of circumstance.

Several minds stumbled when entering the myth of hard choices mixed with hollow foreclosures.

Grace fell that night as horror had its pervasive effect of evil doctrines, while the moon threaded the passing of dark clouds.

Tears were not hidden from the thief of dreams and happiness, as she, the victim, marked the shift change in wounds that weaved the surreal run of thoughts, ending in sad assonance.

Crimes speak for themselves as we find that evils have roots in rebellion and confused power, with no validity of argument or conclusive results.

Then we all grieve and wonder, while desperations are thrown in and out of doubts in solipsistic dribbles by the exploration of truth and justice for all with some facts that are not comestible.

Such was the murder at the Highlands.

Enticed by the title as I live in the Scottish highlands. A worthy first entrance to the canon, Sami. Mysterious and dark.

Altho I rarely read "murder" poetry, this has to be one of the most originally stated! Your vocabulary is very impressive & well-employed thru-out. This doesn't feel so much like a sad story, as a symbolic one that could stand for many ways that murder manifests, not just this one specific instance -- such is the power of elevating a message such as you've done here.

the lady had her conversation with death. Never heard it put that way before. You are always offering a unique perspective a twist on the ordinary. Something to make a reader think, and this is always a good thing.

I believe I told you before that you are a scary poet. I have to shamefully admit that your poetry is way too sophisticated for me. and that's why I unconsciously, perhaps, skirt around your page. my admiration is no less great, however, Sami.
this is a stunning write. the number of reviews and the praise you receive is a clear indication of the beauty of the piece.
