A poem on precious stones(particularly diamonds) and their value and connection to romance and natural beauty( not a description of them)

Upon This Rock/…………Sami Khalil

On Gemstones and their values to lovers and all others…A romance and science poem.

Now...I’m forever!

Upon this rock, I will build my utmost exhilaration,

Bargaining the divine moments,

Adding lines to a passing existence,

Keeping flames hidden in my loyal heart.

My many fields hold gleaming gemstones,

Gallantly heightening senses of wonder,

Romanticizing things of nature.

These precious stones are not silent,

For they speak many languages,

Brightening the human world

In twinkles and hues.

They possess own individuality,

Along the gentleness and strength,

Shedding pointless routines,

Soaring above our perfect concerns.

Life’s last cries were made into stones,

For flaming legends to be told and

Trophy beauties to behold, when sunlight invades

their dreamscapes, exquisitely alluding to insights.

They evoke promises and values, grasping at our yearnings of passions.

Today…I’m forever!

Coming to conclusions of flaws,

Realizing journeys have movements,

Carving many facets of unflailing wonder,

Rendering this (Ring) for you.

For acceptance is born within, suffice to say:

“Read My notes.”

My love…

I like how you tied romance and science together in this one, Sami. A rock can be eroded, but can love be? Sometimes it does wear with age. Even if a diamond CAN evaporate and turn to ash, I don't think true love can. I believe some sparks are always alive. As is usually the case, your poetry is thought provoking and well written, Sami. Great work. Lydi**

These lines also evoked the term 'blood diamond' - taking on another dimension!

I would love these lines alone to be the piece in totality. They are a story..tell the whole...and leave a pause of before, the earthen beginnings... and what brilliant shine of last line!!

Cd

though....make up a gorgeous piece

Hi Sami. Enjoying a stroll through the back pages and came across this little gem. :)))

It's quite lovely and I just had to make a poetic reply.

I picked a pebble from the beach,
gave it to my love;
she thanked me with her sapphire eyes,
kissed me with ruby lips;
then said how she would love me,
til the stars slipped from the sky,
that though diamonds are forever,
so to our love would be,
a thing that ever lasted
all through eternity. T

I enjoyed your poetry and thoughts today and you are welcome.
Well penned!
I really enjoyed this piece, I am taken back by the description of words
that focus on the brilliance of precious stones, I just love the stanza
pertaining to these stones speaking several languages:) My mind started
pondering a couple other things that may have the same effect, so thanks
for making me think and thanks for sharing your amazing poetry, b-blessed!
