Debutante/……….By Sami Khalil

For Valentines. A sad one of hurt and blame…

……………………………………………………………………………………………………..

The Poem:

=======

Blame it on the un-sluiced weather,

The lack of safety dinghies,

The collage of anguished words,

As you barge in adduced installments, the limits of accommodations-

With every bit of me, trudging and drudging time-lined innocence and tangible barriers athwart bruised hearts.

She is nonsense, blunder and the Gothic frustrations in the equation of:

Minuend-subtrahend= our differences or possibilities apart, dismantling the beauty of a relationship with structured mythology.

Blame it on the one, who is left unnoticed-

Lending your melody in piano lessons to troubled goddesses.

Blame it on the ominous breast aches,

The uneven lines of culmination and the eerie foreshadowing of love liens.

Blame it on the “then” for the stars are still outside my windows, gently guiding light-filled infringements of new-born eyes.

For: “What will ever matter when fear is as mad as a hatter?”

"What will ever matter when fear is as mad as a hatter?" Or, if discussed, had as a matter.
"Debutante" is a masterful weave of, often conflicting, thoughts and feelings that plague many lovers.
As they ruminate over these charged sentiments, blame is thrown hither and yon.
A uniquely stunning piece of work, good poet--but then, what else is new?

wow! just wonderful use of language says i! and the underlying sympathetic heart that speaks of brutal breakups and need to find explanations and to blame ... such a wonderful piece sir! one falls in love with the words ... thoughtful, empathetic and emotive with jewels of math, myth, nature, tragedies at sea and all kinds of "stuff" .. loved having this for breakfast this morning ..glad i found it!

Damn! Fear........just so very true, Sami!!

The trials and tribulations of the lovers. Brilliantly worded and very thoughfully written.
I love a poem that illustrates the absolute truth, and this poem does that extremely well.
I can definitely relate to Fear in a relationship. Ohhh, boy. So troublesome that is!

Profound writing. Very well done. And another beautiful picture!
