The popping of the fire awoke Gregory from his sleep; his vision was blurry, he tried to focus his eyes. The fire snapped he felt the covers on him; he turned over not knowing where he was. The last place he remembered was… beside Mary-Anne. A startling realization he sat up and uncover himself of the fur that draped over him, as he tried to stand, he had felt nauseous and fell back onto the bed.

“Mary!” he cried. A figure had stood from the fire and came to him, he tried to focus as the blurred figures touch was gentle, warm and caring aiding him back under the fur.

“Mary!” Gregory uttered and his hand squeezed the figures hand. “I’ve had such terrible dreams Mary, terrible dreams…” And his grip loosened and his vision had turned black, the sounds around him with the snapping and popping of the fire slowly faded.
